La Roche University seeks a strategic, student-centered, and systems-oriented University Registrar to lead the institution’s records, registration, degree audit, transfer articulation, curriculum implementation, and academic operations functions. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, with a dotted-line relationship to Academic Affairs, the University Registrar will serve as a critical institutional partner in aligning records and registration services with student success, academic policy execution, compliance, and operational excellence.
The University Registrar serves as the official custodian of student academic records and the university’s primary authority on records compliance, including FERPA and related federal and state requirements. The role is expected to modernize and strengthen student records and registration operations while preserving a close working partnership with Academic Affairs on curriculum, calendar, graduation, and policy implementation.

Core Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for the Office of the Registrar in support of enrollment, progression, persistence, and degree completion goals.
- Serve as the official custodian of student academic records and ensure the accuracy, security, integrity, and confidentiality of all student academic information.
- Interpret and implement university academic policies related to registration, grading, academic standing, records, residency, transfer credit, graduation, and degree conferral.
- Lead all registration and records operations, including transcript processing, enrollment verification, graduation clearance, diploma processing, veteran certification, and related services.
- Oversee the academic calendar, course scheduling processes, degree audit operations, and catalog implementation in partnership with Academic Affairs.
- Managing the early alert systems, identifying at risk populations, and implementing intervention strategies that support retention and persistence efforts
- Support transfer articulation development and transfer credit evaluation consistency in collaboration with academic departments and institutional partners.
- Provide leadership for registrar-related components of the student information system, with strong preference for Jenzabar experience.
- Serve as primary contact and institutional Account Manager for the National Student Clearinghouse to certify student enrollment and earned degrees.
- Partner with Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Institutional Research, IT, Advising, and Student Accounts to improve workflow integration, service quality, and data governance.
- Develop and monitor reports, dashboards, and service metrics related to registration, progression, degree completion, and operational effectiveness.
- Serve as the university’s FERPA resource and provide guidance and training to faculty, staff, and administrators on student records compliance.
Leadership Expectations:
- Build a highly service-oriented office culture that is responsive, accurate, and student-centered.
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce friction for students, faculty, and staff.
- Strengthen coordination between Enrollment Management and Academic Affairs while preserving the Registrar’s academic integrity and compliance responsibilities.
- Support university committees, audits, accreditation activities, commencement planning, and special projects related to academic operations and student success.
- Lead and develop registrar staff through clear expectations, accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in registrar operations, academic records, registration, or related higher education administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA, student records management, registration systems, degree audit, academic policy implementation, and compliance requirements.
- Experience leading staff, managing complex workflows, and improving cross-functional business processes.
- Strong analytical, communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across academic and administrative divisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a private university setting.
- Experience with Jenzabar J1 or a comparable student information system.
- Experience with transfer articulation, catalog management, scheduling, and commencement operations.
- Experience supporting retention, persistence, or student success initiatives through registrar-related data, policy, or process work.
